If you have just moved and faced a problem because your address is not updated on your Aadhaar, this is helpful.

In accordance with the unique identification authority from the Indian website (UIDAI), there are two ways to update or improve your address on your aadhaar card:

1. You can update it online

2. Visit an enrolment center

Only individuals who have registered their valid cellphone number with Aadhaar will be able to update it online. Because online transactions are confirmed OTP, register your mobile number with Aadhaar is mandatory.

If you visit the aadhaar permanent registration center, you can get both demographics (names, addresses, date of birth, gender, cellular, and email) and biometric (fingerprints, iris, and photos) updated.

 

You need to bring the original document for updates to the registration center. The original document will be scanned and submitted back to you after the update. You can visit one of the permanent registration centers for updates.

(The variation of the date of birth can only be updated for non-verified DOB.

In case of address, proof of the address documents (POA) such as the bank statement / the booklet, the ration card, the water invoice, etc. However, no document is necessary in case of an update of the genus

Here is how you can change or updates your Aadhaar card online

 

1. Visit the UIDAI website- https://uidai.gov.in/

 

2. Choose My Aadhaar tab.

 

3. From there, select the Update Your Aadhaar section and click on Update demographics data online. 

 

4. You will be led to a new page. Click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar.

 

5. Here, users will have to feed in their Aadhaar number and the Captcha verification.

 

6. Click on send OTP. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number through SMS. Enter the OTP and log in.

 

7. From there, choose Update demographics data. Add all relevant details and upload the required documents.

 

8. Once everything is done, users will be required to make a payment.
